Day 1: A New Leaf!

Disclaimer: I've never had (or let alone read) a blog before. This will be a learning process for me during throughout the next year, so don't be afraid to give me advice or to point me towards blogs I should start reading, because quite frankly I'm winging this right now! Anyways, without further ado: my first day in my new town, Samba.

Day 1: A New Leaf!

Although my first day was not a very eventful one by any stretch of the means, I still tried to document as much as I could with the very small amount of playtime that I had. Day two was a little more eventful, but I'm still experimenting with my photographs. As time goes on I'm sure I'll be able to provide more content!

Arriving in Samba

For those who aren't aware, a Samba is a kind of musical genre and dance that hails from the South American country of Brazil. It also has roots from Africa, but I'll spare the finer details. Most of my town names derive from musical terms or styles, but I've never used Samba as a name though. I drew my inspiration from the seventeenth session of Cowboy Bebop entitled "Mushroom Samba." What does this have to do with Animal Crossing? Nothing at all! Just thought I'd put that out there for anyone who is curious about where I got the name from. :)

Here's a photo of me (Cammy) being welcomed by the locals of Samba! In the ranks of the welcome-wagon crew, we have (from left to right) Tipper, Cyrano, Peaches, and my secretary, Isabelle. Fun fact: Isabelle is my second favorite name behind Amelia, who also is a character in Animal Crossing!

Meeting the Townsfolk

First on the list is Bill, who so rudely did not attend my surprise welcoming! Oh well, I won't hold it against him since he seems like an alright guy. From what I could gather, he seems to fall into the jock category which doesn't bother me one bit. I find that the jocks tend to be some of the more comical characters, so I welcome Bill wholeheartedly into the town of Samba!
I like Bill's house a lot; it is rather uncharacteristic for a jock character, though!
Next, we have Cyrano. Unlike Bill, Cyrano was polite enough to be apart of the welcome-wagon crew, but don't let the kind gesture fool you; Cyrano definitely has a cranky personality! Although he may seem difficult to get along with sometimes, I can relate to him in a way, so his demeanor isn't too off-putting for me. I'm sure we'll get along just fine. Fun fact #2: I had Cyrano in one of my towns in one of the previous AC games.

Eyebrows fooo daaaaaays (like mine are any better!)

The third spot on the Samba roster is filled by the normal horse, Peaches. You could say she and I are old friends considering she was in my original town back on the GameCube (what a great console, by the way) so we go waaay back. Glad to see a familiar face in my new town. :)

Old friends, reunited
Pippy is a peppy character (whoda thunk) who I honestly haven't built a strong opinion towards yet. I definitely don't dislike her, but we just haven't talked all that much yet. She seems like she means well though, but then again, which Animal Crossing villager doesn't? :P
Pippy putting the weight of the world on my shoulders
Last, but certainly not least, is Tipper. An unfortunate name perhaps, but I'm sure she's heard the cow-tipping joke more than her fair-share of times, so I'll try not to bring that up with her. Anyways, she definitely seems like a top contender for being my favorite neighbor for a few reasons. I dig her personality a ton; she's definitely snooty at times, but she seems rather nice all things considered. She may be a little self centered at times but so am I, so we that in common! Plus, she has a Jacob's Ladder in her room; that's pretty cool if you ask me!

...and she's a psychic!

Random Photos

Katrina decided to come today, which was cool...except for the fact that I didn't play long enough to get my fortune told! Oh well, at least I know that she likes to come around on Thursdays.

And here's where I decided to set up shop, so to speak. I really like the placement of my house! It's located right next to the waterfall where the local river flows into the sea and right in front of the beach. Surely the location alone is enough to bring up my property value!
Nook's a sucker for letting me live here for the same price as living right behind the railroad tracks! Ha!

 In Conclusion

Well, I hope you enjoyed my blog so far! Like I said earlier, I have no idea how long/short this should be, but we'll consider the first 20-40 entries to be experimental blogs because:
1) It sounds cool
2) It'll probably take me that long just to get used to this
3) Because I said so

Anyways, I'm thankful to all of you who read this. I hope you stick around with me for the year long journey I'm about to embark on, because God only knows that I'll need you to keep me from going crazy! Until tomorrow, guys! Take care!
